Attuned Psychotherapy was founded on a simple but powerful belief: healing happens in safe, connected relationships. The practice was built with a vision of collaborative, relationship-centered care, grounded in attunement, compassion, and deep respect for each person’s story.

Attuned Psychotherapy specializes in working with complex trauma and dissociation, as well as pregnancy and infant loss. The work is grounded in an attachment-focused, relational approach that recognizes how early experiences shape emotional well-being, sense of self, and capacity for connection.

Therapy is not simply about interventions—it is about creating a space where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and known.

In addition to individual, couples, and group therapy, the practice maintains a strong commitment to mentorship, supervision, and the development of future clinicians. This reflects a broader mission: not only to support individual healing, but to contribute to a community of well-trained, thoughtful therapists who can provide attuned care to others.

At its heart, Attuned Psychotherapy is guided by the belief that people are not defined by what has happened to them. With the right support, individuals can reconnect with their inherent resilience, rediscover their voice, and move toward lives marked by greater connection, meaning, and joy.

The inspiration for our logo:

You may be wondering why we chose the thistle as a symbol for Attuned Psychotherapy.

The thistle has long symbolized resilience and protection. Its prickly exterior mirrors strength and the ability to endure adversity, while its ability to thrive in harsh, rugged landscapes reflects an enduring beauty that flourishes in difficult conditions—mirroring bravery, a refusal to give up, and resilience in the face of hardship. Its sharp leaves and stems serve as natural defenses, reflecting protection and the ability to ward off harm.

Across cultures, the thistle has also been regarded as a symbol of good fortune and is sometimes believed to carry protective, magical qualities. Its symbolism is both rich and practical, uniting beauty with defense.

In essence, the thistle embodies a balance of beauty and bravery, showing how a seemingly humble, prickly plant can be admired not only for its form, but for what it represents: the ways strength and protection often develop together.

Much like the people we work with at Attuned Psychotherapy, the thistle reflects how resilience can take shape in difficult conditions, and how protective defenses—though sometimes misunderstood—are deeply rooted in survival, courage, and the capacity to endure. It is such an honor to walk with people as they heal from adversity. I hope our new logo will reflect their courageous survival.
